Melancholia

I am listening to a story about Charles Dickens in the car in which various characters suffer from melancholia including the great man himself. So much nicer than "depression" don't you think? I suffer myself, "lower than a well-diggers heel". My brother, I have just heard is going down hill, his recovery wasn't permanent and he is in a bad way. I sobbed all day yesterday, I have worshipped him all my life, even though he had little time for me.  The last couple of years I have had small snippets of the closeness I always yearned for and it would break my heart to lose him.
Poor old Mum is really sad too.
Enough of that.
I have a date today and even though I have to fight myself not to cancel, I am going to the Art Gallery and then to lunch with a dear friend that I imagine is having the same battle not to cancel. I would never leave home if I had the choice.
Some pretty pictures for you ..............

Catchup

I haven't said a word in ages, the part of me that writes and paints and shares with others has shut down completely.I am not even crafting. For a while I was selling Barbie dolls on eBay to make up for buying Barbie dolls on eBay at a time when we can least afford it and then it hit me.Its that usual urge we get to buy stuff when we are broke, it often happens.
John is working part time and money is at last dribbling in but my buying binge was still pretty silly.
Peter and the kids are staying with us while they wait for a house and I am loving having them except their dog is causing my cat to leave home.
Fingers crossed she comes out of hiding when they leave.
Mum is well, I am taking her to the doctor this morning, just a check up.
Mostly I am just hiding from the world and enjoying my husband. It is such a miracle to have him back! I thank God for every precious moment!

SCAMMED!

I can't believe I was so stupid after all this time on line I fell for one of the" oldest tricks in the book" and did what we all know NOT to do and gave up all my personal information! What is worse NO ONE cares! After receiving a receipt for a payment through PayPal for an item I didn't purchase, I
stupidly  clicked the link cancel payment, incensed that someone had used my account to pay for something I ignored the warning bells in my head and provided my private details, including drivers license etc. for security reasons in order to stop payment.
When the penny finally dropped, I rang the police, because they( the crooks) could identify themselves as me. They politely told me to go away and to ring a Scam website, who also told me politely to go away. I cancelled my credit card and changed my PayPal password ( these people were at least helpful).
I remain very concerned that they know the answers to my security questions (which I also changed), as well as my license number but cannot see what can be done about it. I will contact the Dept. of Transport today and see if I can get a new license, meanwhile, I am cardless for 10 days!
I thought someone would want to catch these crooks! NO way! Thinking of a career in crime? This is the way to go!

the cat was all over the keyboard while I typed this! LOL!

Am I a hoarder?

Here's an idea I love, I collect IDEAS for ONE DAY! Lately I am a bit worried about my collecting.

Last year I collected Mad Max
and rocks and insects for one of my grand-sons. I also collected Polly Pockets for my grand- daughters.

Now I am collecting Barbies for the girls, woops and some they wont be allowed to de-box?? What's with that? Barbie looses her value the minute she is de-boxed so I guess some may be mine?
Did you know that Barbies full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts?

I love this one because she has the original pushed in face of the one on the card above. It disappeared pretty early and is much coveted.
This one is for Jessie, you get to colour in the sparkles yourself and then stick them on the dress. I am hoping her mother will allow it because she will be creating and expressing herself,

her Mum doesn't approve of Barbie!

I will post some more  pics of our holiday
and my Birthday soon. I have to send them to myself from my I-phone.

Did I  mention the Arts and Crafts stuff I have collected!

I think I may have a problem?

OVER AT LAST

I haven't posted because I can't talk with my heart in my mouth and that's where its been for the last month or more with John getting out of hospital but being very ill and getting no better. He was back in Gladstone hospital, then air lifted to Brisbane, back in for 3 weeks and then home this week. He is finally starting to improve and is growing a little hair.
We are going for a weeks holiday while my brother is here to look after mum! Let the healing begin!

PS. I will have a birthday while I am away and turn 63.OMG!

so good to feel well again!

I have been sick with a fever, runny nose and chesty cough for a week! I had to leave Brisbane because
I couldn't visit John when I was like that. He had his own infections to fight, he has been very wheezy!
This morning, though, we both feel we have turned the corner and are on the mend!
This means that with luck he may be home by the weekend! Joanne is there with him but caught the same cold and can't be
near him either!

The sun is shining but the nights are cold, first cold winter here for about 5 yrs.
I haven't been able to be near Mum either but maybe today I can give her a hug!

I can't believe it is finally coming to an end............................No I will shut up for fear of jinxing us!
